Robert alturo mejia santos, known as ALtur Santos is a singer songwriter born and raised in Dominican republic. Inspired by his mother Ana Gil, a famous trumpet player, Altur began his musical career as a saxophone player at the young age of 11. At the age of 21 his mother tragically passed away due to a medical condition leaving him and his 3 younger brothers to use their musical talents to make ends meet. Alturs musical talents lead him to not only provide for his family but lead him to become one of Dominican Republic’s most famous and sought after saxophone players where he played for artists such as Amarfis, Omega, el Alfa and many more. It was there that Altur further expanded his musical career and showcased his true talent of being a solo reggaeton artist / song-writer and producer. After moving to North America Altur quickly became one of Canada’s latin artists on the rise. Altur managed to land a feature with Shawn Desman and Alx Veliz. Currently Altur Santos has over 254,000 monthly listeners and over 6 million streams across all platforms. This is only the beginning for Altur in a short period of time he has become 2022 most booked latin artist in Canada for shows and club appearances, with over 20 shows as of July 2022. With his unique voice and charisma It’s safe to say that Altur Santos is on his way to transition from Canadas Latin artist of the year to the leading latin artist of the world.
